today makes one week since i've arrived at my second wwoof farm. my host is lizzie wynn and her lovely ten year old son, tali, her two dogs, bonnie and sophie, and her two lovely llamas. the farm here is very different than the attridge's-- especially since i am one of four wwoofers:
shirah from israel.
& james, kate, and helena from england.
most of our work is actually construction, and while it might sound a bit like heavy labor, we're actually building a straw bale house. the work is hard, don't be deceived, but very rewarding.
our living conditions are primitive to put it lightly-- no running water, no shower [yes, we do shower in town-- though i won't confess how un-regularly] no electricity, and even a compost loo to boot.
i'm actually quite enjoying it.
saturday the four of us girls made a mad-treck into granada.
a few of the highlights involved helena gnashing her foot open in the middle of the supermarket while a few young spaniard guys tried to be of service even though we didn't understand much of what they were saying.
and then for the last 45 minutes home, kate managed to cover about every inch of herself-- and the buss floor-- in her vomit.
apparently she gets violently car-sick.
i'm enjoying myself here-- it's really nice to be solitary and the views make up for our lack of civilization.
i'm axiously awaiting the arrival of the beautiful kara jerden-- if i spend anymore time around brits i might have to adapt my vocabularly altogether.
i've already started referring to sweaters as jumpers.
and everything is "well good."
help?
wish you all the very best.
